The FMLA "Golden Rule"

To qualify for FMLA protection, you must meet **all four** of these criteria:

1. Employer Size

Your employer must have at least 50 employees within a 75-mile radius of your work location.

2. Tenure (12 Months)

You must have worked for the employer for at least 12 months (they don't have to be consecutive).

3. Hours (1,250)

You must have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12-month period immediately preceding the leave.

4. Qualified Reason

You need a reason: serious health condition, caring for a family member, or birth/adoption of a child.
